ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are in desperate need of receiver help entering the 2024 offseason, and Bleacher Report has just the trick for Monti Ossenfort and co. when it comes to trade ideas: Keenan Allen.

The Los Angeles Chargers wideout has been involved in trade rumors for the past few seasons now, and in this mock trade, the Cardinals send a third-round pick and Rondale Moore for Allen's services:

"Trading Allen would save Los Angeles $23.1 million in cap space. Given his age (32 in April) and contract, Allen probably won't bring a premium return. Arizona might be able to pry him away for a Day 2 selection and 23-year-old receiver Rondale Moore," wrote Kris Knox.

"Moore has one year left on his rookie deal and hasn't quite emerged as a consistent piece of the passing puzzle. While Allen may be aging, he's still one of the most prolific wideouts in the league when healthy.

"Allen had 108 receptions for 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games this past season. He'd give Murray the sort of No. 1 receiver he used to have in DeAndre Hopkins and, perhaps, could help the quarterback return to Pro Bowl form."

Now, would this actually make sense?

The Cardinals are in the second year of a rebuild under their new regime - and admittedly so - it wouldn't quite be the "right" move to acquire a receiver about to turn 32.

Allen is set to hit free agency after next season, so a contract extension would have to be in play if the Cardinals made such a move. According to Spotrac, Allen would count $23 million against the cap for Arizona next season.

The Cardinals certainly have the cap capabilities to do so, though the right move would be to find either a more younger or less expensive option.

The future is bright in Arizona - undoubtedly - but adding a WR like Allen doesn't make sense in the same light as perhaps the Buffalo Bills acquiring Stefon Diggs.
