Cardinals 'Excited' for Free Agency Plans

In this story:
ARIZONA -- There's plenty of talk, and excitement, for the Arizona Cardinals' upcoming plans in the 2024 NFL Draft.
As there should be.
The organization continues its rebuild after GM Monti Ossenfort and co. took over last offseason. After a tough 4-13 season, the Cardinals approach 2024 with double digit picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, six of which come in the first three rounds and two sitting in the first.
But first - free agency will occur, and Arizona can certainly be players in that market.
After the NFL announced the salary cap for 2024 would be at a whopping $250+ million, the Cardinals currently sit with $43.9 million in effective cap space (which does not account for projected draft class signings) according to OverTheCap.
Owner Michael Bidwill told Arizona Sports' 98.7 FM he's super excited.
"I go back to the extension of Kyler Murray and we were spending on the foundational parts of this roster," Bidwill said (h/t AZCardinals.com).
"When you look at going into this free agency period, I don't know exactly where we are going to spend but Monti knows he's got the resources to get the job done. We've talked about it at length.
"He's going to be smart about it. We know we are close and we also know there have been some changes in the NFC West and it's time for us to take advantage of that opportunity."
Ossenfort himself appeared on 98.7's "Newsmaker's Week" yesterday and touched on the team's plans for free agency:
“We are definitely going to be active in free agency. What does that mean? I can’t spell that out for you right now, I don’t know what that means because we don’t completely control that," he said.
"There’s a market and there’s players we think are going to be available right now that two weeks from now are not going to be available. Free agency is full of unknowns in that respect and, you know, there’s dangers in free agency.”
