Chargers News: How LA Feels Austin Ekeler's Return Will Impact Week 6 Chances

Your Los Angeles Chargers get a tremendous boost ahead of their Week 6 matchup, a home, Moday Night Football contest against the Dallas Cowboys.
Superstar running back Austin Ekeler appears a guarantee to return, after missing weeks 2, 3, and 4 with an ankle sprain.
The loss of Ekeler has considerably hurt the Chargers run game, as the Bolts put up a mere 61 rushing yards in their Week 2 loss to the Titans, and a comically bad 30 yards in their Week 3 win against the Vikings.
Ekeler returning to the fold is likely to be a significant boost to an already-great Chargers offense, as Jay Paris of Forbes explains:
"The Chargers have struggled to complement quarterback Justin Herbert with a strong running game, something that Ekeler’s return could change in a significant manner. He’ll also be another valuable target for Herbert."
Having the unique ability to impact the game at such a high level both on the ground, and through the air, Ekeler's awaited return will come at the right time, as the Cowboys' defense presents a major challenge for the Bolts.
The Dallas defense currently ranks 5th in yards per game allowed (292.8), and have been tagged the 4th best defense overall, per Pro Football Network.
Coming off of a humiliating Sunday Night Football loss to the San Francisco 49ers, there's good reason to expect that Dallas comes out motivated, and with chips on their shoulder to regain their image of being Super Bowl contenders.
Led by Defensive Player of the Year runner-up Micah Parsons, the Cowboys are a terrific run defense that held arguably the best running back in the league, Christian McCaffrey, to a mere 51 yards on 2.7 yards per carry, as well as forcing a fumble off of him.
For the Chargers, every game is a must-win. Sitting at just 2-2 and already having had their bye, it's going to be a difficult next 13 weeks, as playing in a division with the Chiefs, and the small margins in the AFC playoff picture will lead to every game meaning far more for them than most other teams in the league.
Needless to say, having Ekeler back will be key for the Chargers in a must-win, primetime outing. Time to see what the Bolts have on their biggest stage this season.
