In this story:

Coming off their Super Bowl LVII win over the Philadelphia Eagles, the Kansas City Chiefs are slated to enter training camp as the favorites to repeat and emerge victorious in Super Bowl LVIII. Betting markets aren't just expecting postseason success, though, as a stellar regular-season stretch is also anticipated.

In recent odds released by BetOnline, Patrick Mahomes and company are the current favorites to be the NFL's last remaining undefeated team in the 2023-24 season. Those odds are listed at 15/2 (+750) upon release, with the likes of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Eagles rounding out the top three. Here's the complete top 10:

  • Kansas City Chiefs: +750
  • Cincinnati Bengals: +800
  • Philadelphia Eagles: +1000
  • San Francisco 49ers: +1000
  • Buffalo Bills: +1100
  • Baltimore Ravens: +1200
  • Dallas Cowboys: +1200
  • Los Angeles Chargers: +1400
  • Cleveland Browns: +1600
  • Miami Dolphins: +2000

As far as odds for being the last remaining winless team are concerned, Kansas City is tied with Philadelphia, Cincinnati, the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens at 125/1 for the lowest chance among all NFL clubs. According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Chiefs' 2023 regular-season strength of schedule ranks 28th — or the fifth-most difficult — in the league for this coming year based on Vegas forecasted win totals.

The Chiefs open the season with a couple of tough matchups, as the Detroit Lions come to town to open the year and then a trip to Florida to face the Jacksonville Jaguars is primed to be a difficult outing. Things don't get a ton easier as the schedule plays out, which is a testament to the general belief in Andy Reid's bunch to stack wins even under harsh circumstances.

The 2023 game-by-game record prediction on Arrowhead Report had the Week 4 New York Jets showdown being the Chiefs' first loss, although time will tell how things actually end up unfolding.
