New Heights: Travis Kelce Details Fun Bye Week Trip to Argentina for Taylor Swift Show

Kelce took a trip south of the equator for the first time during the bye, discussing his busy weekend supporting Taylor Swift.

The Kansas City Chiefs' bye week was a natural time for players, coaches and other team employees to get some rest and recharge for the stretch run of the season. It was also an opportunity to experience life outside of football for a bit, which is exactly what tight end Travis Kelce did.

Traveling to Buenos Aires, Argentina's capital city, Kelce made an effort to support Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour after the superstar singer-songwriter attended several of his games for the Chiefs this year. Spending a few days south of the equator for the first time, as he revealed on the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason this week, the 34-year-old enjoyed it all.

"For those of you who haven't seen all the videos of me on your TikTok and your Instagram feed, I was enjoying myself down there in Buenos Aires," Kelce said. "The show was even more electric knowing that I had a little bit more to enjoy it for. Taylor absolutely ripped it. She killed it, and it looked like she was having some fun up there."

The most notable moment of the weekend happened on Saturday night, when Swift altered the lyrics of her hit song "Karma" with Kelce in attendance. "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me" was the new-and-improved version, sending those in attendance and the internet world into a frenzy.

Kelce says he may have been tipped off that it would happen, but it did little to prevent him from being shocked anyway.

"Yeah, I had no clue... well, I might have had a little bit of a clue," Kelce said. "But definitely when I heard it come out of her mouth, [it] still shocked me. I was like, 'Oh, she really said that?'"

In many of the clips from the show floating around on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Kelce can be seen reacting to the moment alongside Swift's father. Scott Swift went in for a high-five but Kelce, still in awe, missed him. Kelce playfully made fun of the moment on the podcast, chalking it up as an honest mishap in the middle of a crazy moment.

The Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11, which is shaping up to be one of the best games of this year's NFL schedule. Not only is it a Super Bowl rematch, but it's a family reunion of sorts for the Kelces as Jason is still turning in impressive performances at center for the reigning NFC champions. Travis is glad to be back in Kansas City and preparing for a Monday Night Football matchup, although he'll have to make the switch back to local barbecue after a solid menu in Argentina.

"We got some good food, man," Kelce said. "Had some empanadas and steak. They're big on all the different cuts of meat. Got some good steak down there, man. It was the first night I was there. Really the only night we had a chance to go to dinner was the night the show got postponed, so we didn't want to just go and have a blast throughout the city like we didn't care about the show. We made sure we stayed in the hotel and kind of kept to ourselves."
