Dante Hall to Be Inducted Into Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame

Former Kansas City Chiefs return specialist and wide receiver Dante Hall will be the next member of the Chiefs Hall of Fame.

The Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame has a wide variety of members, including players who shined on offense, defense, and special teams during their time with the franchise. However, no player may have a more unique path to enshrinement than former Chiefs returner and wide receiver Dante Hall.

Hall will be the 48th player and 52nd individual inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame, the team announced Friday. His induction will occur during Chiefs Legends Weekend this fall.

A Chief from 2000 through 2006, Hall's fame came as a return specialist, where he returned five punts and six kickoffs for touchdowns and recorded five consecutive seasons with more than 2,000 all-purpose yards, most coming from kickoff returns. That feat earned Hall All-Pro honors in 2003 and Pro Bowl appearances in '02 and '03. Even with an additional nine touchdowns as a receiver, Hall's impact cannot be measured by a box score.

Earning the nicknames "The Human Joystick" and "X-Factor," Hall was one of the most dynamic and electric players of his era. Hall was honored as a part of the NFL's All-Decade team for the 2000s, joined by Devin Hester and Josh Cribbs as a trio of return men who changed the game.

Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt reflected on Hall's career in a statement announcing his pending induction.

"My family and I are delighted to announce Dante as this year's inductee into the Chiefs Hall of Fame," Hunt said. "It's not every day you get to witness a generational talent at the returner position, but Chiefs Kingdom was blessed to witness Dante's talent for seven seasons. His quickness, agility and pure athleticism as a returner and wide receiver cemented him as one of the franchise's greats. Following his playing career, Dante joined the Kansas City Ambassador program and has been an active participant in the brand's international expansion efforts. We are looking forward to celebrating Dante's Hall of Fame induction at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium this fall."
