The NFL's Super Wild Card Weekend features plenty of intriguing matchups, and it also boasts some revenge storylines. Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford's meeting between their Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams isn't the only thing to keep an eye on. In a freezing (literally) GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Miami Dolphins and old friend Tyreek Hill.

For Hill, it's his first time playing in Kansas City since the 2021 season's AFC Championship Game. That marks almost a two-year gap between appearances, although the All-Pro wideout isn't making it a big deal.

Speaking to the media this week, Hill described it as business as usual but something he's excited about.

"Just another game, man," Hill said. "I’m looking forward to it. Obviously, I’m very excited for it. I’m not looking forward to the cold, but to see old faces again and play inside of Arrowhead is going to be a special moment for myself. It’s going to be awesome.”

Many are propping up Hill's return as a revenge opportunity. Coming off a 2021 campaign in which he set a then-career-high in receptions and also scored nine receiving touchdowns, Hill was shipped out of town. The Chiefs didn't want to pay him a long-term deal, so they flipped him to Miami. All he's done since then is have back-to-back career years and emerge as one of the very best wide receivers — perhaps the most dangerous — in all of football.

In a win-or-go-home environment, it's going to take all these teams have in order to deliver inspiring performances. With a negative wind chill expected, neither side is going to be comfortable. One of the revolving narratives this week is centered around the Dolphins' struggles in suboptimal conditions. Miami has a chance to put that to rest, as well as end Kansas City's season in the process. Again, though, Hill isn't biting.

“Like I said, it’s just another game," Hill said. "I’ve been in this league eight years now. I’m going to play it just like any other opponent. I’m excited about the opportunity and they've got a great team. That’s all I can say.”

Earlier this week, Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes played it cool when asked about facing Hill again. This is the second time this season the Chiefs and Dolphins will square off, with Saturday's outing being a rematch of Week 9's bout in Germany. Tight end Travis Kelce expects the home crowd to welcome its former star receiver back with nothing but love. Hill seems to be adopting a positive mindset for the most part, too.

Until kickoff, that is.

"Well, I haven’t texted Mahomes since they beat our ass," Hill said. "I texted Kelce but he still hasn’t texted me back. He’s probably still on his Taylor Swift thing. But yeah man, those guys are too famous for me now, I guess. (laughter) Yeah, there hasn’t been any trash talk but obviously when we get there face to face, I’m going to be talking my trash. I’m really looking forward to it.”
