The Kansas City Chiefs' 2023 undrafted free agent class has some notable names at or near the top of its list, and another prospect who many may be familiar with is now set to join the club's 90-man roster.

According to a tweet from his representation at VMG Sports on Monday morning, former Kansas State cornerback Ekow Boye-Doe is signing with the Chiefs:

Boye-Doe, who didn't hear his name called in April's draft, reportedly turned down a rookie minicamp invite from the Washington Commanders after he impressed at a minicamp tryout with Kansas City. Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network pointed towards both sides being interested in ironing out an "extended deal," and this signing marks the presumed completion of that process.

Across four seasons with the Wildcats, Boye-Doe played in 33 games. Amassing 74 tackles during his collegiate career, three of those were for a loss. While he didn't intercept a single pass in college, he had 13 passes broken up in his last three seasons and forced a fumble as a senior. Boye-Doe measured 5'115/8" and weighed 177 pounds during the pre-draft process, also running a blazing 4.39-second 40-yard dash.

According to Pro Football Focus' premium stats for the 2022 NCAA football season, Boye-Doe posted a 62.4 composite defense grade with marks of 67.9, 64.4 and 62.8 in run defense, tackling and coverage. Spending 641 of his snaps in a traditional alignment, Boye-Doe was almost exclusively a boundary cornerback for Kansas State during his time with the team. His ability to defend the run at a high level while also maintaining a solid level of competitive toughness and some coverage chops likely endeared him to Kansas City, as did his head-turning performance during the team's recent rookie minicamp.

The Chiefs have a ton of cooks in the kitchen at cornerback, and the top several spots on the 2023 depth chart are occupied by previous starters who are still on rookie contracts. After the quartet of L'Jarius Sneed, Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson and Joshua Williams, there's room for potentially a couple more players to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. Could Boye-Doe be one of those players once a corresponding move is made to make room for him on the 90-man offseason roster? The door is now being left open for it to occur.

UPDATE: On Monday afternoon, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Texas reported that the Chiefs cut wide receiver Ty Scott. This transaction made room for Boye-Doe.
