3 QBs Among the Most Likely Draft Picks by Colts

If you gave an Indianapolis Colts fan a crystal ball right now, just about all of them would try to see who the team's quarterback of the future would be.

The Colts will almost certainly try and acquire that player through the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft, and oddsmakers are zeroing in on who they think the team might take.

SportsBetting.ag has released their latest odds and the Colts are listed among the most likely destinations for Florida's Anthony Richardson, Kentucky's Will Levis, and Tennessee's Hendon Hooker.

The Colts are the top potential landing spot for Richardson (+150), second for Levis (+225) behind the AFC South division-rival Tennessee Titans (+200), and tied for the third-most-likely spot for Hooker (+1000) along with the Seattle Seahawks.

Richardson perhaps has the highest ceiling of any quarterback in this draft. With a Relative Athletic Score (RAS) tied for the best ever among quarterbacks, he has an elite blend of size and speed. He has a powerful arm and can throw off-platform from many different angles. His escapability is more than just that of a scrambler, as he avoids sacks in the pocket with the best of 'em. However, with just 13 career starts at quarterback under his belt, he still has quite a bit of room to grow. He's considered a raw, boom-or-bust prospect.

Levis is a solid prospect but doesn't quite give as much polish as guys like C.J. Stroud or Bryce Young, and is plenty athletic but not a game-breaker like Richardson. Still, he is a football junkie who's always working to improve his game.

Hooker's stock has been trending upward online into first-round territory but it would make sense if NFL teams had more pause than Twitter does. For starters, Hooker is a quality player, person, and teammate with an unquestionable work ethic. However, he is currently 25 years old and coming off of a torn ACL that cut his final season at Tennessee short. He also comes from a college offense that lacks common adaptability to the pro game. Given Hooker's advanced rookie age and the fact the team who drafts him will need to wait on his return from the knee injury and his transition into an NFL offense, he could literally be drafted anytime from the first day to the third.

While the NFL Draft is always a crapshoot, it does seem as if Stroud and Young — widely considered the top two QBs in the draft — will be off the board for the Colts if they stay put at pick No. 4, leaving a strong likelihood of them landing either of Richardson, Levis, or Hooker.
