Former Colts QB to Become CBS NFL Analyst

In this story:
Last season was one to forget for the Indianapolis Colts franchise.
There were high hopes when the team traded for then-Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Matt Ryan. Unfortunately, these hopes fell on deaf ears. However, the rough year that Ryan endured in a Colts uniform isn’t a reflection on his incredible football mind that catapulted him to Offensive Rookie of the Year, multiple Pro Bowls, a First-Team All-Pro selection, an MVP award, and a Super Bowl appearance.
With the brilliance that "Matty Ice" displayed throughout his career on and off the field, it’s no surprise that he landed a gig breaking down the game of football. Ryan announced on his Twitter that he will be joining the CBS Sports crew as an analyst in 2023.
Excited to join the @NFLonCBS family! Looking forward to breaking down the game this season.

There is a chance that Ryan could be signed to provide legend-like leadership/mentorship for a team that needs it. He made it clear in his message that this isn’t him retiring for another job.
Ryan is a great fit as an analyst given his high-level playing experience that spans 15 seasons. While he remains a free agent, he’ll occupy the time on the open market by providing coverage from the CBS studio.
For legacy purposes, below are the illustrious numbers that Ryan has strung together in his NFL tenure.
- 234 games (all starts)
- 5,551 pass completions (5th all-time)
- 62,792 passing yards (7th all-time)
- 381 passing TDs (9th all-time)
Whether or not Ryan gets signed elsewhere is up in the air. What isn’t in question is his ability to break down the game he has been one of the best at for many years. It will be exciting to hear and see Ryan on the mic in the studio on Sundays.
