Cowboys' Micah Parsons Being Recruited to Dan Quinn's Commanders by Jahan Dotson

Washington Commanders receiver Jahan Dotson is trying to recruit one of the best defensive players in football in Dallas Cowboys defensive end Micah Parsons.

Adding one of the best pass rushers in football would be a solid building block to begin the Dan Quinn era. ... even if that "best pass rusher in football'' was only joking.

Still ... Washington Commanders receiver Jahan Dotson took his shot, tweeting at Dallas Cowboys defensive end Micah Parsons in response to his team hiring Quinn as the new head coach.

"We welcome you with open arms brotha," Dotson tweeted at Parsons.

Dotson's pitch to Parsons comes in the wake of Micah's comments on Quinn, who was the Cowboys' defensive coordinator for three seasons. Parson spoke highly of Quinn and said he could potentially follow him.

"Dan's my guy," Parsons said on Jan. 11. "And if he (does) leave me, it's always love. He might take me with him. You never know."

Actually, we do know. The Cowboys plan to keep Parsons in Dallas "for life,'' and will soon be negotiating with him a contract that could be in the range of $30 million APY to make him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.

More valuable, really, is Parsons' scouting report on Quinn.

Said Micah recently: "He does a great job finding ways for you to love the game, finding ways to go around the game. It doesn't always have to be hard-nosed, 'I'm the coach.' I think it's more of a friendship. We go through what I don't like [and] what I do like. He doesn't just treat me like a player. He treats me almost like a friend. He's always there when I need him, and we're not afraid to have those hard conversations, either it's father to son or player to coach."

Quinn's relationship with Parsons and his ability to develop him into the player he has become bodes well for the Commanders. Through his first three seasons in the NFL, Parsons has 40.5 sacks, 51 tackles for loss and 89 quarterback hits.

Again, the Cowboys will not be letting Parsons walk in free agency and they will not be trading him, especially to a division rival. A realistic dream: The hope that Quinn can one day develop a player of his caliber here in Washington.
