Kendall Fuller: "We gotta get one to D.C."

Kendall Fuller is from Maryland. He went to Virginia Tech and was drafted by the Redskins.
His rookie year left a lot to be desired.
His sophomore season (2017) was terrific and he looked like a totally different player.
Then he was shipped off to football heaven. Kansas City. Arrowhead Stadium. Andy Reid.
Start Me Up by the Stones (kickoff song at Arrowhead), an AFC title game and then a Super Bowl!
Oh and a game sealing interception to lock down the Vince Lombardi trophy.

Outside corner, slot corner, both safety positions. A versatile chess piece that can make up for an injury or a cap shortage.
Now he's back. And he wants to experience what he did this past February in the nation's capital.
When asked about the Chiefs Super Bowl parade, Kendall Fuller said it was fun but added, "We gotta get one to DC" #HTTR

That seems to be an emphasis and then some for Ron Rivera, Kyle Smith and Jack Del Rio this offseason.
Fuller talked with reporters via teleconference on Wednesday, including RedskinsReport.com and here's the best of what he had to say along with observations.
1. Fuller first heard from the Redskins at the scouting combine in Indianapolis.
I thought agents weren't supposed to talk to new teams about their clients at the combine!

Worst kept secret in the #NFL! https://t.co/z1YB9Tb5po#Redskins #NFL #HTTR
2. This is so, so important and can promise you, things will be different under Ron Rivera.
Fuller: "My two years in Kansas City, it was almost like, we just felt like we put way too much work in day in and day out, starting from OTAs." https://t.co/1PWnsnix6Q

3. As mentioned, versatility is a key ingredient for most teams but especially for Fuller's value at $10 million per year.

4. In today's NFL, you're in nickel defense (5 DB's) about 70% of the time. What happens in base is going to be interesting.
Kendall Fuller on #GrantAndDanny: "My 2nd year [in KC] was pretty much all nickel." Said he played safety late last season because Mathieu was thriving at nickel.

Redskins sources have told me they view him more in nickel and at safety than outside. He can play wherever.
5. On his Super Bowl interception.
Favorite part of Kendall Fuller's phone call was his answer about his game-sealing INT in the Super Bowl: "You grind and work to make sure that's not the last play you're remembered for."

6. RedskinsReport.com columnist Rick Snider weighs in.
Listening to Kendall Fuller presser, the Redskins are getting back a much more mature, polished player who will be a real asset. Saw how winning is made in K.C. and can transfer it to Washington. This is a big plus move.

7. On the trade that sent him to Kansas City.
Kendall Fuller said he does not have hard feelings about the Redskins trading him to Kansas City for Alex Smith. "They made a move to improve the team."
