Roster Churn: Redskins shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic

The Washington Redskins have announced a couple of roster moves on Tuesday, as they have turned their attention to the undefeated New England Patriots who will invade FedEx Field with a brand of quality football unaccustomed in these quarters of the universe.

Washington cleared some room on their practice squad by waiving cornerback Adonis Alexander. Alexander was brought on board as part of the 2018 supplemental draft.

The former Virginia Tech Hokies star was big on athleticism, but apparently not big enough on talent to break into Washington's rotation of defensive backs.

The 6-foot-3, 205 pound corner was on the team's active roster for nine games in 2018, making four tackles, but failed to make the team out of training camp this season.

His practice squad spot could be going to preseason star wideout Robert Davis, who was released by the club on Tuesday as well.

Davis was brought up when it was determined star rookie Terry McLaurin needed to be scratched from the Week 4 lineup.

Davis logged 22 of 51 snaps (43%) Sunday, catching one of his two targets to gain 11 yards.
