'Messed Up!' Dallas Cowboys Ex Dez Bryant Reacts To Micah Parsons Drama

Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant sticks up for Micah Parsons amidst a "smear campaign" against the star linebacker.

The Dallas Cowboys always seem to find themselves in the center of drama, even when they're the ones causing it.

Late last week, a report from began circulating that the behavior of star linebacker Micah Parsons has "worn thin" among some members of the organization. Additionally, the same reputable media source, Shan Shariff of 105.3 The Fan, stated that some in the organization would be "smiling or breathing a sigh of relief" if Parsons was gone.

Parsons is extremely vocal off the field between his podcast "The Edge," frequent social media posts and arguably eccentric postgame pressers, but such comments coming from within the Cowboys organization about their best defensive player, who's also due for a contract extension soon, is not a good look.

Just ask former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant, who stuck up for the star linebacker in a recent social media post.

"Yea he ain’t getting the bag without a smear and that’s messed up… he got kids who will grow up later on in life and nobody care to think about that," Bryant wrote on X.

The situation with Parsons seems to be the latest in a trend of "smear campaigns," as Bryant put it, surrounding Cowboys stars due for a raise. Bryant is well aware of this trend, as he said "Aw s*** I know how this goes" in an earlier post.

If this tactic is the Cowboys' way of gaining leverage in contract negotiations, they're not doing a very good job of it.

Even with his colorful personality - or, heck, maybe even because of it - Parsons has been everything the Cowboys could've hoped for and then some. The Penn State product has 40.5 sacks through three seasons, and he has become the face of the defense, if not the franchise as a whole.

There are many who have urged Parsons to "focus on winning'' rather than on being a flamboyant personality. That's one thing. But trying to manage the situation by engaging in what Bryant terms a "smear'' campaign? That's another thing - a negative thing - entirely.
