Stephen A. Smith Trolls Jerry Jones' Dallas Cowboys: 'Not the Best Team in Texas!'

Well-known Dallas Cowboys Troll Stephen A. Smith has a new claim that will stab at the hearts of fans of America's Team.

FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys will always be America's Team. But to some, the same can't be said for them being "the best team in Texas."

The Houston Texans pulled off a major trade on Wednesday by acquiring former Vikings and Bills wideout Stefon Diggs and a pair of late-round draft picks in exchange for a 2025 second-round selection.

That trade, combined with the Cowboys lack of activity so far this offseason lends to the perception that the Texans have surpassed Dallas as the best team in Texas. That's an opinion that's been shared by noted Cowboys troll, Stephen A. Smith.

“What’s going to happen with those Dallas Cowboys is, they’re going to sit up there and monitor this situation. And it’s one thing for you to not win a Super Bowl. That’s bad enough. It’s one thing to not also make an NFC Championship Game in 29 years, that’s even worse. But it’s another thing entirely when you’re not even the best team in Texas,” Smith said.

Smith took to Wednesday's episode of "First Take" to lay down his latest troll jobs. “You’re missing the big headline. They [the Texans] are probably the best team in Texas,” Smith said.

Dallas is a division winner in two of its past three seasons and posted a 36-15 record while quarterback Dak Prescott has put up league MVP-type numbers in the regular season. But the postseason is another story, where the Cowboys have just one victory in the past five seasons.

The resurgent Texans, however, has a spectacular season of their own in 2023, exceeding all expectations with rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud, who made the Pro Bowl and won the AP Offesnive Rookie of the Year award.

Houston went 10-7 and won the AFC South after three consecutive seasons of four wins, four wins and three wins, respetively.

And now, the Texans add Diggs to a young wideout corps giving Stroud another weapon in an already potent offense.

How will Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones counter Smith's claims? Dallas needs to improve its team drastically before the 2024 season, and it all starts with the draft later this month.
