Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders Thanksgiving: Odds Favor Dallas By How Much?
The Dallas Cowboys are riding high after Sunday's dominating 33-10 road win over the Carolina Panthers - and oddsmakers expect similar results in Thursday's Thanksgiving game against the Washington Commanders.
Dallas (7-3) has opened as 11-point favorites over Washington (4-7) with the over/under set at 48 points, per BetMGM. The Cowboys' money line currently sits at -600.
A staple event since 1966, Dallas holds a 32-22-1 all-time record on Thanksgiving, including a 28-20 win over the New York Giants last season.
The Commanders, in comparison, are just 4-8 ... but their most recent appearance was a statement-making 41-16 win over the Cowboys in 2020.
The two NFC East foes are heading in different directions, with Dallas winning two straight games by at least three possessions and Washington coming off consecutive losses, the most recent being a 31-19 home loss to the three-win Giants on Sunday.
As such, it's no wonder the Cowboys are considerable favorites - but will they cover?
In its last 12 Thanksgiving contests, Dallas is just 1-11 against the spread, the lone coming against Washington in 2018.
The Cowboys are 5-7 in the win-loss category in that time period, a mark they're expected to improve upon in the first matchup between the two sides this season.

Last year, Dallas took a 15-point home win over Washington in early October but suffered a 20-point drubbing in the season finale as quarterback Dak Prescott completed only 14 of 37 passes for 128 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
That's the only loss the Cowboys have taken to the Commanders since the Thanksgiving defeat in 2020, as America's Team boasts a 3-1 record against Washington over the past two campaigns.
Prescott is 9-2 against the Commanders in his career with five victories of at least 12 points, particularly notable for the 11.5-point spread.
Can Dallas win on Thanksgiving in back-to-back years? If so, will it cover the two-possession spread?
