Jerry Jones: 'I'm Peeing Down My Leg!' Playoffs Like Christmas for Excited Cowboys

Jerry Jones: 'I'm Peeing Down My Leg!' Dallas Playoffs Like Christmas for Excited Cowboys Owner

It's beginning to look a lot like ... playoffs.

The holidays aren't over yet at AT&T Stadium, as the Dallas Cowboys' latest postseason run officially gets underway on Sunday afternoon in the NFC Wild Card round against the Green Bay Packers (3:30 p.m. CT, Fox). It's apparently Jerry Jones' favorite holiday, as he spoke about his anticipation during his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan.

“Man, I can’t stand it and I haven’t slept," Jones said. "I can remember back when I was (little) and Santa Claus was coming and I just couldn’t stand it. If you asked me what I wanted, I would just almost pee down my leg, I’d be so nervous to even say it.

"That’s the kind of feeling I have here.”

Ah, the old "pee-down-my-leg'' level of excitement! Only time will tell if Jones, 81, has a fourth Vince Lombardi Trophy waiting under the "Playoff Christmas'' tree.

The road to the Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas is certainly a bumpy one. Though the Cowboys stand as the NFC's second seed, their competition is fierce, as any visit to Sin City will likely require a layover in Santa Clara, home of the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers. Dallas (12-5) did do well enough to the point where any opponent beyond the Bay Area will be forced to come to AT&T Stadium, where it currently holds a perfect 8-0 this season.

Even Green Bay, the last team on the NFC bracket as the seventh seed, is hardly a pushover. Recent history has been dubious enough, as the Packers of won eight of the past nine meetings and ended recent Dallas playoff runs in 2014 and 2016. Green Bay (9-8) enters Sunday's get-together as winners of each of its last three, a trio that has seen them average over 423 yards a game.

Jones, however, does appear glad to have a former Packer on his side for the game and beyond, as his latest appearance offered him a chance to bestow yet another vote of confidence for Mike McCarthy. The current Cowboys head coach had a hand in the aforementioned eliminations earlier in the new century, having served in the same spot in Green Bay for a dozen-plus seasons (2006-18).

"He has really made as big a difference from his head coaching vantage point as anybody could from any vantage point in the NFL," Jones declared. "He’s the big difference this year."

Add it all up? It's Christmas in January ... and Jerry Jones trying to ... er, hold in his excitement.
