FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys and Dolphins play on Sunday in a matchup between two top teams from each conference. Dallas has locked in a playoff spot and Miami is on the cusp of doing the same.

In preparation, Dolphins second-year coach Mike McDaniel knows it'll be tough to account for Cowboys standout defensive star Micah Parsons, and considers him to be one of the best players in the NFL.

“He is one of the best players in the National Football League at any position. And it’s — yeah, I don’t think it’s really debatable,” McDaniel said.

Not many coaches in the league would debate that - if any.

“This dude is different,” added McDaniel. “And the orchestration that he has with his teammates, the stuff that coach [Dan] Quinn does with the multiplicity of his alignments, and you can tell that not only is he unique in skillset, but you don’t play all the way across the line, and in the stack, and do all the things he does without having a true love for the game.”

Parsons is now in his third season in the league and has made a name for himself as a ferocious pass rusher. After 14 games this season, Parsons has recorded 46 tackles, 12.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.  And he'll have his hands full against a potent Dolphins air attack that ranks No. 1 in the NFL with 274.4 passing yards per game.

Micah is of course aware. ... especially of the speed of his pal Tyreek Hill, who is dealing with an ankle issue but plans to play while pushing for MVP candidacy at receiver.

“It’s not fun at all when you’re getting ready to go against someone like Tyreek Hill because I know I got to run faster than I ever have all year,” Parsons said.”I might hit a miles-per-hour mach speed chasing someone like him …

“It’s fascinating to watch it, but when you’re actually playing in it, it’s like, ‘Ah damn, I gotta deal with this (bleep) now, damn.’”

Micah insists he can run with Tyreek. And if so - in terms of football game-planning? Yup. That "dude would be different.''
