Unlucky 13? Cowboys' Micah Parsons Promises 14th Sack by 'Any Means Necessary!'

Dallas Cowboys "pass-rushing linebacker" Micah Parsons is ready to finish the regular season at the Washington Commanders with a bang ...

And with another sack.

With the NFC East and the No. 2 seed in the NFC on the line, the Cowboys can secure both with a win in the nation's capital on Sunday.

But there's something else on the line for Micah at FedEx Field - in his previous two seasons, Parsons has been "stuck" on 13 sacks (13.5 in 2022) and as fate would have it, entering Week 18, Micah again has 13.

He's determined not to let a third straight season end with the same sack total.

“At this point, it's any means necessary, it's any means necessary," Parsons said with a smile. "I might jump offside twice this week, something has to change. It's coming. It's coming for sure.''

We're not sure the logic of "jumping offsides''; Micah did that last week vs. Detroit and almost cost Dallas a win. But "it's coming''? We believe that.

Parsons almost couldn't have a better opponent than the Commanders to get over the No. 13. Washington has given up the fifth-most sacks in the league (63) and in the Week 12 win at AT&T Stadium, Commanders quarterback Sam Howell was sacked four times (Micah grabbed 1.5 sacks).

But while Micah's sack total is on his mind, so too is what's at stake for the Cowboys.

Washington, with nothing to play for but pride and with the chance to spoil Dallas' end to the season, has Parsons is fully aware of the dangers that come with this situation.

“It's always dangerous to go against someone who has nothing to lose; they can pull out all types of tricks and gambles because they want to make a statement," said Parsons, the third-year star who this week was named to his third Pro Bowl. "Their backs against the wall, they want to see what they have for next year and prepare for that. We got to go and make a statement and say we are the better team, we are the more dominant, aggressive team and we just got to prove that Sunday.”

It is all laid out for the Cowboys as the path to the division and No. 2 seed is clear - just win.

Having played catchup to the Philadelphia Eagles for the majority of the season, Philly's recent capitulation has handed the ascendancy to Dallas with an opportunity that many thought impossible just weeks ago.

But it's one that, like Parsons' wanting to surpass his sack total of 13, must be taken, and in his words - by "any means necessary."
