Cowboys' Michael Irvin Back on TV, But Bayless New Show's 'A Cluster****! - FOX Source

Did debuting Michael Irvin and the fellas neuter Skip Bayless on purpose? Surely not - though when the disreputable "personality'' Bayless literally asked permission to speak on his own "Undisputed'' show - “Time out!” and “My turn!'' he pleaded - the Cowboys ex and his fellow jocks ignored the dork.

FRISCO - Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin is back on national TV as of Monday, loudly and colorfully offering up his takes on Dak Prescott and other subjects on FS1. That's the good news.

The bad news, at least for main "Undisputed'' host Skip Bayless, who found himself completely overwhelmed and outclassed by co-hosts Irvin, Keyshawn Johnson and Shannon Sharpe?

"Jesus,'' one FOX insider told CowboysSI.com, "That was a cluster****!''

Bayless’ revamped “Undisputed” took two months off after co-star Shannon Sharpe divorced Skip, who transformed himself from a "controversial journalist'' into a disreputable shock jock some 30 years ago in Dallas. He opened this show by serving as his own "hype man,'' shrieking and boasting and pounding the table in a sad series of cringe-worthy moments before bringing on his "sidekicks.''

But then the "sidekicks'' kicked his ass, Bayless barely able to get a word in edge-wise on his own show as he was simply buried by a trio of accomplished and knowledgeable ex-NFL superstars who didn't seem to care that his $8 million salary was being wasted on a human fire hydrant.

Did Irvin and company do this on purpose? Did they mean to neuter Bayless? To expose him? Surely not - though when he literally asked permission to speak - “Time out!” and “My turn!'' he pleaded - the jocks ignored the dork.

At one point, Keyshawn called him “Skippy.” At other points, Irvin rose from his chair and delivered a football sermon to his congregation - surely making his late father, who was an old-school preacher, proud.

Irvin has been suspended by NFL Network and ESPN while he sues his accusers over an alleged incident at a hotel lobby before the Super Bowl, needed to get back to work. Good for him. Joining forces with Bayless seemed to us like a "deal-with-the-devil'' move.

But at one point, after Bayless tamely complained that he wasn't allowed to speak because his new partners “talked too much,'' it occurred to us that while this is absolutely awful television - an industry "cluster**** - two things were accomplished.

One, Michael Irvin was handed a microphone.

And two, Skip Bayless - on his own show! - had his microphone taken away.
