Michael Irvin Warns Cowboys' Micah Parsons About 49ers Trash Talk: 'Focus On Winning!'

'Focus on winning!' Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin says that linebacker Micah Parsons should be careful when trash-talking one of the team's biggest rivals in Brock Purdy's San Francisco 49ers.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is not shy about voicing his opinions on social media, even if it sometimes leads to an argument.

Like the rest of the NFL world, Parsons watched on Christmas night as San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy threw four interceptions in a 33-19 home loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Parsons made his criticism of Purdy's MVP candidacy public by posting a pair of comments on X.

"Down 21 and there no shots or development throws!" Parsons wrote. "Should tell you all you need to know!

"So is MVP numbers, wins, strength of schedule, interceptions do or don’t matter?! Like what’s the qualification because we’re all over this year!!" Parsons continued.

Parsons comments caught the attention of 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel, who defended his teammate while questioning Parsons' priorities.

“Bro, we beat you 42 to, like, whatever the score may be,” Samuel said. “I don’t get why he’s so bothered by what we’ve got going on over here or whatever the case may be. ... Like, I don’t understand where you’re going with that.”

Now, the latest chapter in this "saga" involves Cowboys Hall of Fame receiver Michael Irvin. Appearing on Fox Sports' Undisputed, the Cowboys icon warned Parsons about getting too wrapped up in the trash talk, especially with a potential playoff rematch against the 49ers still in the cards.

"Micah Parsons told me at the draft, ‘I’m going to do what you do. I’m going to win Super Bowls just like you won Super Bowls. Broadcasting too,'" Irvin said. "He has that personality, he has that desire. I have no issue with the man trying to get the early head start.

“Now, when you’re on the Dallas Cowboys and it gets so much attention, yeah, things get hyped and blown up. You’re worried about it giving San Fran more hype, it absolutely is. They’ll come in hyped because of it but Micah Parsons has to match that.”

As the Cowboys look to win their first Super Bowl since Irvin was playing, putting their head down and quietly going about their business is some solid advice.
