FRISCO - The Chiefs and 49ers haven't yet taken the field for Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, but early odds are already out for next season's championship game in New Orleans.

It's no surprise the two participants on Feb. 11 are at the top of the list. The San Francisco 49ers open as the favorites at +550 while the Kansas City Chiefs open at +750.

And ... Despite their recent playoff misfortunes, your Dallas Cowboys are one of just three NFC teams near the top of the list. At 20-1, Dallas is tied with Green Bay for the third-best odds of any team in the NFC. The Lions open with the fifth-best odds at 12-1.

Also ahead of the Cowboys are the Ravens at +900, the Bills at +950, the Bengals at 12-1 and the Dolphins at 15-1.

NFC East rival Philadelphia opened at 22-1 tied with the Jets and just behind the Texans who are also at 20-1.

The Cowboys have made the postseason each of the last three seasons but failed to reach the conference championship each time. Under current coach Mike McCarthy, Dallas is just 1-3 since 2020 and has lost twice that time to the San Francisco 49ers.

The last conference championship game appearance for the Cowboys was 1995, which is also the last time Dallas won a Super Bowl.

The Cowboys own the second-longest NFC Championship game draught behind the Washington franchise that hasn't made an appearance since 1991 and has made just seven postseason appearances overall in that span.
