Cowboys in Super Bowl? Dallas Among 2023 Favorites, Say Oddsmakers

Football fans beyond Kansas City and Philadelphia are already looking beyond next Sunday's 57th Super Bowl. Those seeking some optimism for their team's chances of reaching the 58th are in luck.
Early fortune, for the time being, favors the Dallas Cowboys, who have the fifth-best odds of winning next year's championship showdown, standing at +1200 for the extraordinarily premature forecast for the first Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
Even with Dallas' modern postseason futility ... last weekend's conference championship game pair was the 28th in a row with no North Texas representation ... the Cowboys always linger as popular Super Bowl choices. One look at the roster makes it easy to see why: the team sent eight representatives to Sunday's Pro Bowl festivities (tied with Buffalo for the most, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles, who will not participate), and despite some crucial transaction decisions looming on vital names (I.e. Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard), the future depth chart at least seems capable of consistently competing.
Though they fell in the NFL Divisional playoffs to the San Francisco 49ers, the Cowboys (12-5) won at least a dozen games in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1992-95. Unless the team fully embraces the idea of a full-on rebuild, they'll likely appear at or near the top of hypothetical championship lists such as these for years to come
The aforementioned Kansas City Chiefs (+500), who are far more focused on winning the current edition next Sunday in Glendale (5:30 p.m. CT, Fox), top the list with the Buffalo Bills (+550) close behind. Next year's top NFC fortunes favor San Francisco (+700) while the Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals are tied for fourth (+1000 each).
