Cowboys VIDEO: Micah Parsons Workout - With 3-Year-Old Son Malcolm

Micah Parsons gets in a Dallas Cowboys workout ... and 3-year-old son Malcolm joins in for agility drills, weight-lifting ... and a nap.

FRISCO - Micah Parsons is known around here as the "Lion-backer,'' a nickname that recognizes both that he's both more than "just a linebacker'' ... and recognizes that the Dallas Cowboys star loves the idea of him being King of the Jungle, maybe in part rooted in the fact he that he once played for the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Now along comes his his 3-year-old son Malcolm, and yes, if Micah is the NFL version of "The Lion King,'' it appears that little Malcolm is "Simba.''

Parsons, arguably the best defensive player in the NFL as he enters his third season, has developed a reputation for both social-media and live-interview color and creativity (he just got back from the billionaire "All-White Party'' in the Hamptons) and a work ethic that he hopes wins both him and his team honors.

And yes, it seems maybe some of those traits are hereditary. ... as little Malcolm looks like he's got something when it comes to showing off for the cameras ... and showing off his 3-year-old agility and his 3-year-old ... weight-lifting?

At the end of the All-Pro workout, Micah probably grabs himself a protein shake, But Malcolm? Hey, he's 3. So he grabbed himself a comfy seat in the back of Daddy's car ... and he grabbed himself a nap.

Having said all of that: Don't sleep on Micah Parsons, who has been selected to both the All-Pro team and the Pro Bowl in each of his two seasons, has won the Defensive Rookie of the Year award and seems primed to once again compete for Defensive Player of the Year.

But little Malcolm Parsons? You are allowed to sleep. You've earned it after a productive day at the gym!
