Dallas Cowboys vs. Panthers Preview: CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott Record Watch

It's The Dallas Cowboys vs. Panthers Week 11 NFL Preview: CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott Record Watch

The Dallas Cowboys hit the road in Week 11 for a matchup against the Carolina Panthers, who own the worst record in the NFL.

Cowboys star Micah Parsons and the defense look to get after rookie quarterback Bryce Young, who ranks 29th in the NFL in QB rating at 75.9. The No. 1 overall pick has looked shaky at times and has thrown for 1,560 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions as well as taken 29 sacks.

Dallas' defense did take a big hit this week. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed that linebacker Leighton Vander Esch will not return this season because of his neck injury.

"Linebackers are a position of strength for us," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. "But he can't be replaced. It's a significant loss for us."

On the other side of the ball, the scrutinized "Texas Coast Offense" hopes to keep the positive momentum after a commanding 49-17 win over the New York Giants in Week 10. Quarterback Dak Prescott completed an impressive 26-of-35 passes for 404 yards and four touchdowns.

Keep an eye on receiver CeeDee Lamb against the Panthers. Lamb needs 25 receiving yards to reach 1,000 receiving yards in 2023. He would be the second-fastest Cowboy to 1,000 receiving yards in a season (10 games), trailing only Michael Irvin in 1995 (nine games).

More history for Lamb ... If Lamb reaches 1,000 receiving yards vs. Carolina, he would become the first player in franchise history to record three 1,000-yard seasons in his first four years.

Dallas has been dominant at home but a strong road victory could help build confidence as they enter the final stretch of the season. The Cowboys are trying to keep pace with the 8-1 Eagles, who have a two-game lead in the NFC East division.

RECORD WATCH: Prescott has totaled 300 passing yards in three straight games. With 300 yards on Sunday, Prescott would set a franchise record for the most consecutive 300-yard games with four.

RECORDS: Dallas Cowboys (6-3) at Carolina Panthers (1-8)

ODDS: Dallas is a 10.5-point favorite vs. the Panthers

GAME TIME: Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 12 p.m. CT

LOCATION: Bank of America Stadium - Charlotte, NC

THE FINAL WORD: Jones on Dallas' defense:

"I would say this, I'm glad we have this defense," Jones said. "I wouldn't trade this defense for any other in the league."
