Jerry Jones 'Radio Silence'? No 'Conspiracy Theory' for Dallas Cowboys Owner Decision

FRISCO - Having been on the other side of the radio microphone and seeing that on the line waiting to "join the show'' is none other than Jerry Jones, I understand the anticipation the Dallas Cowboys audience has in listening in to his visits.

Especially now.

But as Cowboys Nation waits for that figurative puff of white smoke to billow out of the top of The Star signifying that decisions have been made? Know that the fact that Jones is not planning this week to pop on to 105.3 The Fan, the team's flagship radio station.

And while his disinterest in doing so certainly might have something to do with the disappointing end to Dallas' season, the central reason Jerry's not on the air this week has been explained clearly by the prominent morning host, 105.3 The Fan's Shan Shariff.

“Yes, they have come on in the past to recap the season, but their radio agreements for the year actually expire when the (team's) season ends," said Shariff of the Jerry and Stephen Jones regular weekly guest spots.

That doesn't preclude Jerry from dialing up the phone and inviting himself on the radio at his pleasure; again, when the producer and host see that hotline ring, it's always a welcome thing. And I might even predict that Jerry might do so after he and the front office shuffle through what must be done.

Jerry's thoughts on coach Mike McCarthy and quarterback Dak Prescott and a myriad other issues? He will certainly share those, as he always does.

But after this playoff loss, the first game the Cowboys had lost at home all season, and the first time ever that a No. 2 seed has lost to a No. 7 seed?

Jerry Jones has the contractual right to take a breath before he breaks his radio silence.
