Micah Parsons Predicts Cowboys in Super Bowl, Recruits Star Lineman

Less than 24 hours after Super Bowl LVII, Micah Parsons is already on the Dallas Cowboys' recruiting trail.

The smoke hasn't cleared from the aftermath of Super Bowl LVII but Micah Parsons is already making predictions for the 58th.

With his second Dallas Cowboys season proving both fulfilling and frustrating ... featuring 12 wins but another postseason loss at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers ... Parsons is back on the recruiting trail, looking to land current Baltimore Ravens standout Calais Campbell.

The 36-year-old Campbell recently announced his intention to return for a 16th NFL season and is one sack away from becoming the 42nd player in NFL history to reach 100 official sacks. Campbell recently made it clear on social media that he's looking for a championship opportunity, having not visited the Super Bowl since the 43rd edition, when his Arizona Cardinals fell to Pittsburgh in a narrow thriller.

Parsons' recruitment featured not only an incentive for Campbell to join up but also a de facto prediction for next year's championship game set to be held in Las Vegas.

"Better put a star in your helmet, big bro," Parsons writes to Campbell's request, referring to the Cowboys' famous emblem.

Campbell, a highly-successful pass rusher over the last decade-plus (reaching six Pro Bowls and three All-Pro teams), could provide a strong veteran prescience, especially considering he and Dallas' share a goal of ending lengthy Super Bowl droughts. His respective tallies of 5.5 sacks and 14 further quarterback hits were good for his best outputs since 2019, his last of three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

There's a problem, of course, beyond the fact that Dallas is currently $6.7 million over the 2023 salary cap, which could force the Cowboys to bid farewell to several notable names on the roster: Calais Campbell isn't even a free agent. He's got one year left on a Ravens contract that has a cap number of $13 million.

So, Micah has the right idea here, but probably the wrong guy - and might be wise to go back to trying to to recruit another defensive tackle, Daron Payne of Washington, who is a decade younger than Campbell and is actually a free agent.
