Stars 'Aligned!' Inside the CeeDee Lamb & Dak Prescott Dallas Cowboys Connection

"Get me the ball and see what happens." That was Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb's message coming into Week 8, and against the Los Angeles Rams, that message was heeded as Lamb played a pivotal role in the Cowboys' 43-20 win at AT&T Stadium.

He caught 12 passes for 158 yards (a career-high) and two touchdowns as he continued on from his efforts against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6 (seven catches, 117 yards).

The connection between Lamb and Dak Prescott has yielded 275 yards and two touchdowns from 19 catches in the last two games. So what has made the pair work so well and set both L.A. teams on fire?

"Staying open, that's all I can do," Lamb said. "He's aligned with me and I'm aligned with him. We've built the trust. Coming in, it's Year 4 together. A lot of reps."

It takes time to develop this level of connection between quarterback and receiver, and once it is at a level where minimal communication is needed to make adjustments or change a route, the pair can be nearly unstoppable.

Lamb was coming off a career-best season last year as he hauled in 107 catches for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns as the connection between him and Prescott was already evident. But its gone to a new level now.

"Work, a lot of work," Prescott said of how the chemistry has come together. "A lot of time put into it. You can go back to the offseason, from the time we started back in April, maybe even before then, in my backyard. The time we spent in minicamp, OTA's, to trips out to Atlanta. A lot of time invested, a lot of trust in that guy. He runs, he knows what I'm thinking, we're always communicating and I think that's why."

The time spent developing that bond is now paying off, as Lamb and Prescott have easily torched the secondaries of both the Chargers and the Rams.

After stalling against the San Francisco 49ers defense, Prescott and Lamb's connection will again be put to the ultimate test in Week 9 at Lincoln Financial Field as Dallas faces the Philadelphia Eagles.

The "Texas Coast Offense" came to life in a devastating way with No. 88 at the heart of it, and if the Cowboys are to gain ground on the Eagles next week, Lamb and Prescott will again have to have a big say on proceedings.
