Cowboys Ex-WR Ryan Switzer's Infant Son Dealing With Mysterious Bleeding

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Switzer’s infant son is dealing with a mysterious issue with "significant bleeding.''
“They’re calling this a ‘vascular anomaly’ from somewhere in his GI tract that they just haven’t found yet,” said Switzer, now with the Cleveland Browns, said on Twitter.
In early March, Switzer and wife Gabie found that their son Christian woke up “in his blood” and tested positive for COVID-19.
Surgery was performed on Christian to find the source of the bleeding. The bleeding stopped for a time but has continued to be an issue for the infant.
Christian is stable and not actively bleeding, so we’re able to do these tests out patient until they find the issue. Surgery could be as early as Wednesday if they can confirm what they see on the scan Monday is what they’re looking for.

"I also wanted to share Gabie and I's appreciation for everyone who is lifting our son up in prayer," Switzer said. "We know there are so many things everyone could be praying about and the fact you are interceding to God on our son’s behalf is so heartwarming. Here’s to some good news tomorrow.”
The Switzers are supporters of UPMC Children’s Hospital. If NFL fans and readers would like to donate in Christian’s name, that can be done by clicking here.
Switzer, 26, came out of North Carolina as a fourth-round pick of the Cowboys in the 2017 NFL Draft. Before moving to the Browns, he played for Raiders and Steelers, and has publicly thanked Steelers GM Kevin Colbert and the Steelers organization for their support.
He wrote on Sunday via our Twitter page, "I’m so grateful for the Dallas fans who have followed my career and are lifting my son up in prayer. My time there was unexpectedly cut short but the support has always been fantastic.''
