Cowboys rookie Tony Pollard talks 1-on-1 on his 100-yard day

ARLINGTON - Dallas Cowboys rookie Tony Pollard was a media darling - right there at the podium alongside NFL rushing king Ezekiel Elliott - but along with that, Pollard took the time to talk 1-on-1 with CowboysSI.com about his 100-yard day against Miami.
Ezekiel Elliott ran for 125 yards on 19 carries in Sunday's 31-6 win over the visiting Dolphins. That was expected. But Pollard had 103 on 13 carries. It’s the first time Dallas had a pair of 100-yard rushers since Oct. 4, 1998, when Emmitt Smith (122) and Chris Warren (104) accomplished the feat in a 31-10 win against the Washington Redskins.
I talk to Pollard about that ... just as the Cowboys in the locker room talked about him.

“It’s obviously a tribute to the offensive line,” Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said after his team moved to 3-0. “They did an excellent job in the game to control the line of scrimmage throughout. Getting Zeke going is a big part of what we are trying to do offensively. He can control the tempo of the game when we run the ball well. Tony Pollard going in there – I told him afterwards he was looking like an NFL running back.”
Said Zeke: “I knew ever since TP got here that he had juice, that he could run, that he could play ball and he came out here and played a great game today,” Elliott said. “I’m proud of him. He went out there and did his thing. We’re definitely a run-first team. The running game — that’s our identity. We’re tough. We’re physical. You can’t forget about those big guys up front, they made it easy for us. They went out there and dominated those guys up front and that’s how you get two 100-yard rushers.
"It's got to be tough on defenses,'' Elliott said, "and good luck to them.”
