Cowboys 'Trust' Coach Mike McCarthy? CeeDee Lamb 'Can't Wait' for New Offense

"We trust every bit of it,'' says Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb of the Mike McCarthy-supervised changes to come. "And I cannot wait to see next year.''

Some of the critics of the Dallas Cowboys, and in particular coach Mike McCarthy, either cannot or will not understand it.

But as McCarthy works to take his Dak Prescott-led offense to another level in 2023, having moved on from offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, the people who do understand do seem to be fired about about it.

“I don’t know what to expect, but I’m very excited,” CeeDee Lamb said to Yahoo Sports at Radio Row at the Super Bowl. “You look at what he’s done. He was calling a couple plays out in Green Bay. So it’s nothing new to him. He’s been in this position, and he knows what he’s doing.''

That doesn't mean the locker room is happy to see Moore go (to the Chargers). Indeed, Prescott said he is "upset but happy for him.''

But at the same time, Prescott is also a McCarthy supporter, saying often when asked about the coach job security, "I have his back.''

And maybe that is the best explanation for why even as Lamb might not be quite certain what the Dallas offense looks like in 2023 (though, hey, CeeDee, read here if you'd like a film-room tour!), he can still express excitement about McCarthy as the play-caller running his own offense.

"We trust every bit of it,'' Lamb said. "And I cannot wait to see next year.''
