Cowboys 'Ceiling'? CeeDee Lamb Raising It By 'Picking Brandin Cooks' Brain

The Cowboys have had one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL the last couple of seasons, with CeeDee Lamb knowing full well what kind of potential the unit has.

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb knows what the offense is capable of doing. In his three years in the league, the Dallas offense has yet to average under 24.7 points per game.

Now under the guidance of head coach Mike McCarthy as the offensive play caller, the standard has been set.

The Cowboys have had the first (2021), and fourth (2022) ranked offense in the last two seasons. But with a glaring need to find him some help, Dallas added veteran receiver Brandin Cooks via trade with the Houston Texans.

In a receiving room that now has Lamb, Cooks, Michael Gallup, Jake Ferguson, Payton Hendershot and Luke Schoonmaker along with running backs Tony Pollard, Ronald Jones and Deuce Vaughn, the Cowboys' offense might be able to put up points almost at will. ... or at least that's the way Lamb sees it.

"Can't really put a ceiling on us," Lamb said. "As you can tell, we can score from anywhere, quite honestly. We just have to put it together."

Putting it together consistently when it has been needed most has been the Cowboys' most significant challenge. 

With the division on the line in Week 18 against the Washington Commanders, Dallas managed just six points in the 26-6 loss. Then in the NFC Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers, the Cowboys could only manage 12 points.

But with the addition of Cooks to  stretch defenses and give Lamb some much-needed help, the Cowboys are again (on paper) expected to be one of the league's best units.

But the need to consistently evolve and get better is something that Lamb is always doing ... and soaking up information from Cooks is one way he can do it.

"I'm more of a visual learner, and he's more of a 'Let me show you' type," Lamb said. "Honestly, if I have any questions, the first moment he stepped in, he said to ask and be open with him. Out of all the guys I've had ahead of me, I always pick their brains. That's one thing I'm good at."

With Cooks bringing a wealth of experience and Lamb eager to feed off that and go to another level, the Cowboys could have a dangerous tandem for Dak Prescott next season. ... maybe with no ceiling to what this offense can accomplish.
