Dallas Cowboys Icon Michael Irvin Ranks Brock Purdy Over Patrick Mahomes?

In this story:
SANTA CLARA, Calif. Just how reeling out of control are the minds of those who love their Dallas Cowboys? The performance of young San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy in the 42-10 victory against the Dallas Cowboys on "Sunday Night Football'' - and the performance of the Cowboys, too - is elevating him to Patrick Mahomes-level heights.
Says who? Says none other than Dallas legend Michael Irvin.
Purdy, just 23 and a 2022 seventh-round NFL Draft pick - to be more precise, the final player taken in that entire draft - on Sunday completed 17 of 24 passes (71 percent) for 252 yards and four touchdowns to help the 49ers remain undefeated at 5-0 this season.
His dismantling of the proud Dallas defense was the subject of conversation on TV's "Undisputed'' on Monday, with NFL Hall of Famer Irvin revealing that in his opinion, Purdy is an MVP candidate.

"Playing the quarterback position is all about effectiveness,'' Irvin said. "And I have yet to see anyone I would take in that San Francisco offense over Brock Purdy. Now if you ask me, is he an MVP? Absolutely.''
And what about Mahomes? Irvin is technically saying that Purdy in his offense is so good that not even Mahomes in San Francisco would fare better. But the "Playmaker'' is saying it ... boldly.

"I would take (Purdy) over any quarterback (to play on) that team and in that system, including the quarterback we have in Kansas City right now in Patrick Mahomes,'' Irvin said. "Brock Purdy with (Niners coach) Kyle Shanahan is the perfect fit.”
