FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys have made no secret of their desire to make certain they have enough beef in the interior defensive line, and a team source tells CowboysSI.com's Mike Fisher that they have "prioritized'' the re-signing of Johnathan Hankins, their late-season trade pickup from the Las Vegas Raiders.

One problem: Hankins - who was brought in to anchor down the middle of the Dallas defensive line and did so - seems to have his own version of a "beef.''

Writes media scout Brian Broaddus, the former staff turned radio personality: "Hankins is dragging his feet on a possible signing. ... Just not interested in signing right now.''

What sort of a slap is that from Hankins? Does he not want to play in Dallas? Does he, at age 31, not want to play at all? Does he want to wait a while before signing so his 6-3, 340-pound body can skip some of the rigors of the offseason at The Star and maybe even part of training camp in Oxnard?

Does he want more money than the Cowboys are offering him?

There may be multiple "yesses'' at play here as the blossoming Osa Odighizuwa is going to need help inside. Are there any other options? Through the NFL Draft, of course. And a tier down in free agency still? Sure, with another Dallas free agent, Carlos Watkins, a possible returnee.

Calais Campbell stands out as an option after being released from the Baltimore Ravens. But the 36-year-old is set for a visit with the Atlanta Falcons. ... While another ex-Rams' interior defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson - a pedigreed talent who went to high school in Fort Worth visited with the New York Giants on Monday.

The Cowboys are looking to bring back the known commodity, Johnathan Hankins, before venturing for outside help. But for now? The Cowboys might want to "venture'' ... because Hankins is "dragging his feet.''
