Cowboys' Micah Parsons And Trevon Diggs Ranked 'Best Duo'; Here's Why

The Dallas Cowboys have a loaded roster and, on both sides of the ball, boasting lots of Pro Bowl-level talent. Currently in the "Super Bowl contenders" club, Dallas enters next season as one of a select few with genuine title aspirations.

With so many talented players, which Cowboys can be labeled as the "best" duo? CBS Sports compiled a list of every team's best duo while adhering to some criteria.

- Play on the same side of the ball

- Contribute to the team's offensive or defensive success

- Can be from the same position, but not a prerequisite

- They can be the two best players on that particular side of the ball

- They don't have to play an official game together (so rookies and free agents are included)

Using that formula, CBS Sports has named Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs as the "best duo" for Dallas.

"The two best players on the Cowboys defense just happen to be their biggest playmakers," CBS Sports writes. "Parsons led the NFL with 90 quarterback pressures last season, pressuring opposing quarterbacks on 19.3% of his pass rushes -- that also led the league. Parsons is one of the best pass rushers in the game.

"Diggs has 17 interceptions in his first three seasons, the fourth most by any player since 2000. His 3.4% missed tackle percentage was fifth among cornerbacks as opposing quarterbacks had a 71.7 passer rating targeting him last season (five touchdowns allowed and three interceptions). The Cowboys have been a top 10 defense in points allowed per game in each of the last two seasons. Parsons and Diggs are two young stalwarts on that unit."

Both Parsons and Diggs are significant parts of defensive coordinator Dan Quinn's unit, and yes, both are at the top of their game. ... and working to get even better.

Micah is in the upper echelon of best defensive players in the game as he is coming off yet another All-Pro season, while Diggs is coming off another Pro Bowl campaign that saw him snag three interceptions.

With many seeing Dallas as a "defense-first" football team now, Parsons and Diggs are two of the driving forces behind Quinn's unit being one of the better ones in the NFL. Both are in the elite bracket at their position, and either can decide a game on their own, which is why we think they rank as Dallas' best duo.

Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb? Surely they are in the runners-up group, as the pair connected well last season as Lamb had a career year and Dak produced in many ways - outside of the infamous 15 interceptions.

Quinn's group will look to somehow improve on back-to-back seasons of leading the NFL in takeaways and only allowing 20.1 points per game. If the unit can show signs of improvement, we imagine that Parsons and Diggs will lead the charge.
