Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard has been mysteriously absent from training camp the past two days, but there isn't any cause for concern.

According to head coach Mike McCarthy, the star running back has only been absent to attend to a personal matter, not due to injury. McCarthy added that Pollard will return to Oxnard on Tuesday night and return to practice soon after, easing the worry of any Cowboys fan.

"I'll let Tony speak on his personal business and him not being here," McCarthy said. "He gets back in town tonight. We'll obviously work tomorrow in the mock game and he'll practice Thursday."

Now, though, it seems that the exact cause of Pollard's absence has been revealed. Through an Instagram post, Pollard and his girlfriend Kerra Mackey announced that they have welcomed their second chid, Maui. The couple had their first child, Taraji, in September of 2021.

As if being a father to two kids wasn't enough responsibility, Pollard is entering a huge season in Dallas. With the Cowboys releasing Ezekiel Elliott earlier this offseason, Pollard is now the undisputed top back in Dallas, if he wasn't already. He's also playing on the franchise tag, and with the running back market as it is now, this season will play a huge role in his NFL future.

If Pollard can carry his momentum from last season into this one, though, there shouldn't be much of a concern. The Memphis product had the best season of his young career, rushing for 1,007 yards and nine touchdowns while adding 371 yards and three touchdowns as a receiver. He did suffer a high ankle sprain in the Cowboys' playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, but he made his recovery ahead of training camp.

With a huge season on the horizon, Pollard now has yet another reason to be at his best.
