FRISCO - Troy Aikman just wants to sell you a beer. But there are opportunistic ways for the Dallas Cowboys legend to do that ... and recent controversies involving major brewing companies have opened the door to Aikman explaining that his own EIGHT brand of beer is about "authenticity'' and not "agendas.''

"No agendas, no distractions, just great f****** beer,'' Aikman said in a recent tweet, all part of him recognizing the Bud Light boycott issue as one that offers him a platform of sorts.

Appearing on the TMZ Sports TV show this week, the Hall of Fame quarterback and Monday Night Football'' personality said that he wants to differentiate his brand by focusing on "the product itself."

"I think there are a lot of companies out there that want to tell everybody who they are, or what they are about, and they're not focused on the product itself," Aikman said, via TMZ. "With so many of these companies coming out with bold, oftentimes polarizing positions, and they lack authenticity, and it's really just trying to gain market share. I think people see through that."

Aikman's EIGHT beer is a success in Texas and is now starting to branch out, having even been featured at Augusta during the Masters.

The controversy surrounding Bud Light is about its decision to partner with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney on a marketing campaign, which led to immediate backlash and boycotts that have reportedly cost that company billions of dollars.
