Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has taken control of the steering wheel heading into his fourth season in Frisco after offensive coordinator Kellen Moore parted ways following four seasons as the play-caller, three of which were under McCarthy.

With a new voice going to be in the headset of quarterback Dak Prescott, how do things change? Ex-Cowboys legend Troy Aikman recently weighed in on the situation while speaking at a charity event.

"I've been on all sides of it," Aikman said. "I've had the offensive coordinator. I've had the head coach that oversees and I've had the head coach that calls the plays, and that's the situation that Dak finds himself in now."

"It's a little bit of a different environment during the week because the head coach has a lot of responsibilities. Oftentimes, you're interacting with the guy who's not going to be calling plays — most of the time during the week — in your preparation," Aikman continued.

"They've already got a relationship, of course, but I think the dynamics of what happens Monday through Saturday are going to be different from what he's experienced. And how much different is the offense going to look? Time will tell."

It is also important to note that along with McCarthy calling the shots, he will be implementing an updated version of the offense he ran with the Green Bay Packers, a more West Coast-style offense.

Despite this revamp, it is believed the verbiage within the offense will stay the same, making it easier for Prescott and the rest of the offense to adjust to.

Having a new voice and a different style offensively isn't unusual for Prescott, who experienced this change during the transition from Scott Linehan to Kellen Moore. Now it'll be McCarthy with help from new right hand Brian Schottenheimer. And hopefully the new dynamics lead to another level of success. ...

Maybe even the sort of Super Bowl success that Aikman once keyed.
