Cowboys VIDEO: Micah Parsons, Ja’Marr Chase & Deuce Vaughn in Footrace Workout

In the clip, we see Micah Parsons running some sort of a speed drill as he is lined up alongside a buddy of his, Cincinnati Bengals standout wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, and a new pal, and just-drafted Cowboys running back Deuce Vaughn.

FRISCO - It is one of the freakiest things about Micah Parsons, and one of the freakiest things in football: He's a 6-3, 250-pound man carrying a great deal of muscle and bulk ... moving like a running back, or even like a wide receiver.

Or, in the case of this 13-second video, moving faster than a running back or even a wide receiver.

The Dallas Cowboys stat "Lion-backer,'' as we've taken to calling Micah - though his soon-to-be-increased snaps as an edge rusher might call for a new nickname - is in Austin doing his weight- and speed-training work in preparation for Dallas upcoming OTAs, and on Tuesday he offered a look at what exactly he's doing.

"This is the year!'' Micah writes on Twitter. "Stronger and faster!''

And in this recent workout session post to his Instagram Stories, what we see him doing is working out with a couple of noteworthy partners ... and "out-working'' them, in a sense.

In the clip, we see Parsons running some sort of a speed drill as he is lined up alongside a buddy of his, Cincinnati Bengals standout wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, and a new pal, and just-drafted Cowboys running back Deuce Vaughn.

The 5-foot-5 Vaughn gets by on quickness, of course. But he's got to be able to run. Chase is among the NFL's most dangerous receivers in every way.

And then there is Micah ... who by all rights, scientific and otherwise, really shouldn't be able to out-do these two in a foot race. And yet there he is, crossing the finish line at the sports performance center "Kollective'' ahead of two of the guys most defensive linemen and even linebackers really are not supposed to be able to catch. 

But third, one can’t help but notice that the 250-pound Parsons actually beats both of them. As Micah works to get bigger and better, that is a frightening bit of news for the Cowboys opponents.

Vaughn, the Cowboys’ late-round rookie from Kansas State, will be back at The Star at the end of this week to attend rookie minicamp. Parsons, the leading candidate for NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2023, will also soon be back in the fold for OTAs.
