'Jerry's Last Dollar': Could Cowboys execute a dramatic signing with Dak Prescott as Jones once did with DeMarcus Ware?

ARLINGTON - DeMarcus Ware once showed me the dollar bill that Jerry Jones used to "close a deal' with the legendary Dallas Cowboys pass-rusher. Could Jerry pull off a similar show today with Dak Prescott?
Ware's freshly-minted October 2009 deal with the Dallas Cowboys did not pay him the reported figure of $78 million, the All-Pro pass-rusher told me on the day after a game. The actual total given him by Jerry Jones was $78,000,001 - and I have the photographic evidence of that extra dollar above.
"I've got it right here in my pocket,'' Ware told me late on a Monday night, after he'd agreed to the deal on the Sunday morning before a game. And then he reached for an autographed buck that is suitable for framing.
The Cowboys owner approached Ware on Monday after the new contract extension was finalized, making him the highest-paid Cowboy ever.
"He gave me this,'' Ware told me as he pulled from his pocket a crinkled $1 bill. "Read it.''
On the dollar, Jones had written:

"THIS IS MY LAST OFFER. YOUR [sic] GREAT. JERRY JONES''
"He's a character,'' Ware laughed, promising to frame that 78,000,001th dollar.
Ware knew on that Sunday morning, during pregame stretching at Cowboys Stadium before the kickoff against the Falcons, that he and agent Pat Dye Jr. had reached a handshake agreement.
"Congratulations,'' Jerry told him, shaking hands with Ware on the field. "You are a wealthy man.''
The Jerry/Ware exchanges had been going on for weeks leading up to a deal both sides knew was coming. Said Ware: "Jerry's big joke was to walk down the (Valley Ranch) hallways and do this.''
And then Ware pulled the linings of his pockets inside-out and shrugged with palms-up, showing me the international sign for "I'm broke.''

The Cowboys, as we speak, are trying to finalize a deal with QB Dak Prescott. Already we are seeing social media play the familiar game of "Close'' vs. "Not Close.'' What we know for a fact?
1) Stephen Jones told us kickoff today is a deadline of sorts ...
And
2) Showman Jerry today surely has a Sharpie and one more "LAST DOLLAR'' waiting in his pocket, just in case.
