Kellen Moore Interviews: Cowboys Ex vs. Dan Quinn for 'Ironic' Chargers Coach Job?

In this story:
FRISCO - Kellen Moore was "mutually dismissed,'' we might call it, a year ago, with the then-Dallas Cowboys top assistant joining the Los Angeles Chargers before the 2023 season as the team's offensive coordinator.
And just as with his time in Dallas, there were mixed results, including his offense - too often working without injured QB Justin Herbert - averaging just 20 points per game.
When head coach Brandon Staley was fired, Moore stayed on, of course. And now the Chargers are considering Moore to be the team's next full-time head coach. ... as the Chargers are interviewing Moore for that vacancy.
Moore, who spent several seasons as an offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys before joining the Chargers, has interviewed for other head coaching positions in the past.
Moore has long been highly-regarded as a coordinator and those who'ver worked with him have often told us, "He's the smartest guy in the room.''
If the Chargers are looking for continuity? Maybe this works. ... though given the fact they Chargers have only made the playoffs three times since the 2010 season, with only two playoff wins in the Wild Card round in those appearances, maybe change is needed.
Chargers Seek Quinn Job Interview: Would Coach Leave Dallas?
And given the likely availability of New England Patriots legend Bill Belichick and others, maybe change is coming for a franchise that hasn't won its division since 2009, the final year of a four-year streak atop the division.
Ironically, Dallas defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is also on the Chargers wish list. Why ironic? Because when the senior Quinn and young Moore were both interviewing for jobs the last time around, the person who took Kellen aside to help "coach'' him on how to prep for such an interview was ...
Dan Quinn.
