LISTEN: Chargers Moving to London? 'No,' Says Cowboys Boss Jerry Jones (Who Would Know)

FRISCO - There are struggles for the Chargers in Los Angeles as they await the building of a stadium. And there is hunger in the NFL to conquer new territory, like London, for instance. But Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones completely shut down gossip about the Chargers franchise making a permanent move to London.
"Is it a viable option? No," Jones said to "Shan and RJ'' on 105.3 The Fan when asked about London as a home for the "other'' LA-based franchise, which shares territory with the Rams. "The Chargers are committed to their future in Los Angeles. They're going to be in a fabulous stadium. ... They're going to be a big part of the Los Angeles sports scene."
Jones (who is also busy basking in Dallas' Monday win at New York) would know; he's as instrumental and as informed as any NFL owner on such matters, and was a key powerbroker in the advances for the Rams (from St. Louis to Los Angeles), the Raiders (from Oakland to Las Vegas) and the Chargers (from San Diego to LA). The problems for the Chargers are, however, undeniable; they are struggling to get an audience while playing in a Southern California soccer stadium (capacity of 27,000) ... and maybe those struggles are why a report came out Monday night that London is an option as the future home of the Chargers.
London has done everything possible to show the #NFL it’s prepared to be the permanent home for a team. The league, and the Los Angeles #Chargers, are willing to consider the U.K. as a viable new home. My exclusive for @TheAthletic https://t.co/rHiF2zavIb

Jones' denial is firm. The denial from Chargers owner Dean Spanos is profane, Spanos saying, "It's total f----- bullshit.''
Chargers owner Dean Spanos on his team potentially moving to London: “It’s total f—kin bullshit. We’re not going to London. We’re not going anywhere. We’re playing in Los Angeles. This is our home, and this is where we are planning to be for a long f—king time. Period.”

San Diego fans, of course, have a reason to be skeptical. (So do NFL fans in St. Louis and Oakland. And the Chargers Twitter account? It found a reason to be humorous.

Now, amid the denials and the promises and the profanity and the "Wolf of Wall Street'' humor ... it just needs to be the truth.
