Which 4 Cowboys Stars Get Snubbed on 'NFL Top 100'?

FRISCO - We don't want to get our jockstraps in a knot over an offseason list. These things are by nature "time-killers,'' as insightful as some might be.

Or, at lack in insight as some might be, when a Dallas Cowboys fan realizes that the CBS release of its annual ranking of "top 100'' NFL players over the weekend stiffs at least four guys who deserve to be in the conversation.

Those four: Dak Prescott and a trio of Pro Bowlers in Tony Pollard, DeMarcus Lawrence and Trevon Diggs. ... and while there are subtleties to some NFL jobs, one might wonder exactly what it is that a guy - say Pollard and Diggs - has to do to get the attention of the voter.

The Cowboys do have four players on CBS' list, which is down from six a year ago. (Prescott, Diggs and offensive lineman Tyron Smith are all omitted.)

So who did make CBS' Top 100 from the Cowboys, and where did they land?

No. 8 is Micah Parsons, who registered 13.5 sacks last season. No. 25. Zack Martin, who didn't allow a sack in 2022. No. 48 is CeeDee Lamb, who broke out with 107 catches and nine touchdown catches. And No. 75 is newcomer Stephon Gilmore, the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

We might wonder how a Dallas team that went 12-5 in 2021 landed six guys on the list, followed by a Dallas team that went 12-5 in 2022 plus won a playoff game somehow ended up with less premium talent. Who'll get to have a say in fixing this? The snubbed foursome of Dak Prescott, Tony Pollard, DeMarcus Lawrence and Trevon Diggs might be a good place to start.
