VIDEO Prediction - Packers at Cowboys: Can Dak Prescott win a QB shootout over Aaron Rodgers?

ARLINGTON - My Video Prediction for today's Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys showdown here at AT&T Stadium: Can Dak Prescott win a QB shootout over Aaron Rodgers?

The Cowboys believe Rodgers is about the best there has ever been.

From head coach Jason Garrett: “He’s really good in the pocket. He’s really good out of the pocket. He’s really good on time. He’s really good when the play breaks down. He is. Go back and look at his career. ... I bet his rating is better than anybody who has ever played the game. His touchdown to interception ratio better than anybody who has ever played the game. All that stuff. He’s a really good player.”

Now listen to defensive aide Kris Richard, who lists Rodgers as one of top three quarterbacks in NFL history: “He has a supreme level of intelligence. He understands how he has leverage, single high vs. 2 high safeties, where he wants to throw the football. A lot of it is predicated on leverage. He understands what his system is where his route runners are going and what your weaknesses are.”

So how does Dallas contain him?

“Cover, rush and cover,” Richard said. “That’s it. You got to go play ball. He is special. He is special in the pocket. He can create. He has an elite ability to scramble. As much credit as the scrambling quarterbacks get, this guy is an elite scrambler. We know that. We want to keep him bottled up. We have to cover and make it as difficult as possible. We want to keep him in the pocket. We have to be disciplined in our rush lanes. But rush.”

But the Cowboys also believe their Dak Prescott-led offense is as equipped to win a scoring shootout as it has been during Dak's time here. Those first three games, when Dallas rose to 3-0 while managing 30-point outputs? There's the evidence. The 12-10 loss last week at New Orleans? There's the source of the doubt ... at least in the minds of some.

Forgetting for a moment that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wishes to compare Dak to Tom Brady and let's deal with Prescott's truest strength: Leadership.
