Philadelphia Eagles Coach Nick Sirianni Reflects After Win vs. Dallas Cowboys: 'Unbelievable Game!'

Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni had a way with his words following his team’s win over the Dallas Cowboys.

The Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) have the league’s best record after a 28-23 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Following the Eagles’ latest win, coach Nick Sirianni took time to reflect on the game itself, his team, and the awe the game of football can cause when its played at its highest level.

“Football is such an unbelievable game,” Sirianni said Sunday night. “There are highs. There are lows. Sometimes it brings you to tears of joy. Sometime it brings you to tears. It was obviously the plays before that led to them being in that desperation at the end. Great job by our defensive line to get pressure there at the end of the game.”

Fans were excited all week waiting for the classic Eagles vs. Cowboys matchup many expected would be one of the best this season.

And it didn’t disappoint.

The game featured three lead changes including a 51-yard field goal near the end of the first half that gave Dallas a three-point halftime lead. This was erased after Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts hit receiver DeVonta Smith for a 29-yard score in the third quarter.

Following the Eagles' win, several in media called it an instant classic and declared it would be entered as the latest great chapter of an already legendary rivalry.

Coach Sirianni, who spent the week leading up to it saying internally it was just like every other game, had to acknowledge the weight of it after it was over.

“I feel like I am the same guy every day,” Sirianni said. “Now that we played the game and the game is over, it’s always a little cooler when you win against a really good football team and that good football team being Dallas. I know that means a lot to our fans. I have a lot of respect for those players and coaches over there. It was a good battle back and forth, and it’s cool to be part of that rivalry.”

It’s a bit cooler when you’re coming out on the winning side like Philadelphia was this Sunday.

The Eagles will get another shot of coming out on the right side of a cool rivalry game again when they travel to Dallas for Week 14 on Sunday Night Football. But first, Philly comes out of its bye week to pay a visit to the Kansas City Chiefs for a Super Bowl rematch in Arrowhead on Monday, Nov. 20.
