Eagles vs. Chiefs: Kelce Brothers Have Hilarious Chris Jones Debate - 'Hold Strong!'

Arguably the greatest brothers in football history, Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles and Travis of the Kansas City Chiefs joked about when Chris Jones should return.

NFL football is back, and with it comes a chance for the Philadelphia Eagles to redeem their Super Bowl loss. Reaching that goal is something Jason Kelce believes would be easier with Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones continuing his contract dispute and staying on the sidelines.

Jones is a five-time Pro Bowler and a four-time All-Pro player, yet the Chiefs have avoided rewarding his second season with more than 15 sacks with a new contract as he enters his age-29 campaign.

On a recent episode of their New Heights podcast, Jason and his Chiefs superstar brother Travis had a funny interaction discussing what they hoped Jones would do.

Travis and Jason Kelce share a relationship like no other competitors in the NFL as two of the league’s best players on two of the league’s best teams while hosting a successful podcast as close brothers.

“Chris, can you please come back? You’re really scaring me, man,” Travis said. “Chris, I love you. Please come back—we need you bad.”

“You guys aren’t paying him enough,” Jason said. “I think he should hold off as long as possible, especially past when do we play, Week 10...? Week 10!”

Although that may sound genuine in print, Jason quickly clarified that he was heavily influenced by the fact that he’s an Eagle and would prefer if Kansas City stayed light on talent before he got even more dramatic in delivering his message to the playful frustration of his brother Travis.

“Don’t let them do this to you, Chris. You need to hold strong, my man! For all the other D-tackles in the NFL,” Jason said with a smirk, knowing he was instigating the situation.

Whether or not the Kelce brothers’ pleas factor into the decision for either the Chiefs to pay their star defensive tackle or motivate him to play for less, Jones is currently paid ninth in his position group despite having the most sacks of any tackle since 2020. That includes more than Los Angeles Rams three-time Defensive Player of the Year in Aaron Donald.

When and if Jones comes back to play for the reigning Super Bowl champions this season, it will be a significant storyline for both Philly and Kansas City, as both look to make it back to the big game.
