Philadelphia Eagles Looking Past Super Bowl Loss in Rematch vs. Kansas City Chiefs

While most focus on the Super Bowl rematch allure of this weekend's Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs contest, coach Nick Sirianni is looking beyond it.

The Philadelphia Eagles are the visiting team in Week 11's biggest game as they visit the Kansas City Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch that many have billed as a potential preview of another championship matchup.

Eagles center Jason Kelce has already talked about not putting a Super Bowl lens on the game and coach Nick Sirianni doubled down on his All-Pro center's thoughts on Thursday.

"No matter what game you're playing, you're always going to go back and look at the film of the last time you played that coach," Sirianni said. "In many cases, you're going to go back and look at maybe the last couple times that you've played them. We're studying multiple years' worth of things. Obviously, that tape has been helpful to be able to look at it, and we understand it's probably helpful for them to look at as well."

The last time Philadelphia was on the field was on Nov. 5 against the Dallas Cowboys in a rivalry game featuring the top two teams in the NFC East Division.

That game - which ended in a 28-23 Eagles win - had a lot of hype around it too, and Sirianni maintained a message throughout the week that the excitement of the game would not impact the play on the field.

He's trying to do the same this week in the way he goes about answering questions regarding the Chiefs and drawing from the Super Bowl loss to come out victorious.

But it's going to be a tad bit harder to buy that hype and history won't be as influential in this one as it was in Week 9.

Partially because of the familial connections between the two teams, but also because of the recency in that Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs, and the fact the Eagles become the sole favorites to win it all if they get a win this Monday night.
