Giants Among Top 25 Most Profitable Sports Franchises Per Forbes

Forbes is out with its new list of profitable sports franchises and the New York Giants are right up there with the big boys.

The New York Giants might still be in the early stages of building themselves into a perennial contender, but when it comes to profitability, Big Blue is right up there with the best of them.

According to Forbes, which compiled the top 25 most profitable sports franchises over the last three years from the NFL, MLP, NBA, NHL, and professional soccer, the Giants rank ninth in terms of profit with an estimated $333 million. (Forbes' data ends with the 2021 season for football, while the other leagues' data is through 2022.)

Three other NFL teams ranked ahead of the Giants: the Dallas Cowboys (first, $1.71 billion), New England Patriots (second, $623 million), and Houston Texans ranked (sixth, $356 million).

Meanwhile, the New York Jets made the top 25, their $253 million operating profit good for 21st on the list.

No MLB or NHL teams made the top 25 list.

Although the Giants have a ways to go to catch up to the Cowboys and Patriots, if the roster additions made by general manager Joe Schoen come to fruition and result in the team being better equipped to handle the competition in the NFC East, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Giants profits soar.
