Daniel Jones Exits Dolphins Game with Neck Injury

Jones has been sacked 16 times over the last two games behind a makeshift offensive line.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a neck injury in the fourth quarter of the game against the Miami Dolphins, down 31-16.

Jones, fresh off a 10-sack beating on Monday night against the Seattle Seahawks, absorbed six more sacks Sunday against the Dolphins, three of which appear to have come through the left tackle spot where New York is missing starter Andrew Thomas.

Jones was injured on a 1st-and-10 at his 42-yard line when he was sacked by Andrew Van Ginkel, who beat Joshua Ezeudu on the play. Jones was quickly ruled out by the team with a neck injury, and Matt Peart replaced Ezuedu at left tackle.

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor came in to lead the Giants offense the rest of the way. New York also has Tomy DeVito on its practice squad.

Jones's injury is concerning because, in 2021, he missed the last six games of the season with a neck injury. Jones will presumably have an MRI on his neck once the team returns to New Jersey after the game, his status for next week's game at Buffalo is unclear.

Jones told reporters after the game that his neck was sore, the discomfort similar to what he experienced in 2021. When asked dhow concerned he was about this injury, Jones said, "It's tough to say for sure. I've certainly dealt with similar issues."

He added that he wanted to consult with doctors regarding this latest issue.
