In this story:

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones still hasn't been cleared for contact, per head coach Brian Daboll, and as such, will be limited in the team's Wednesday practice.

Jones has been diligently working on his rehab after suffering a neck injury in a Week 5 loss against the Miami Dolphins. Although he is getting better every day, there is still apparently some concern regarding the status of his injury.

Daboll said he didn't want to project when Jones might receive medical clearance for contact but added that when Jones did receive that clearance, he would reclaim his job as the starting quarterback.

In other injury news, offensive linemen Andrew Thomas (hamstring) and center John Michael Schmitz (shoulder) were set to do limited work in Wednesday's practice. Thomas has been out of action since pulling his hamstring in the Week 1 loss to the Cowboys. Schmitz has been sidelined since injuring his shoulder in a Week 4 loss to Seattle.

Of Thomas, Daboll said that if Thomas, who last tried to practice before the team's Week 4 game against the Seahawks before suffering a setback, is ready to play, he'll go on Sunday. Same for Schmitz.

Right tackle Evan Neal (ankle) and running back Gary Brightwell (ankle/hamstring) will not practice for the Giants on Wednesday. Also, defensive lineman Leonard Williams will not practice, as he's getting a veteran's rest day after playing in 78 percent of the defensive snaps and 21 percent of the special teams snaps last week.
